This one-day, online workshop (27 October 2026) seeks to bring together scholars and community historians, policy makers and heritage activists who are committed to the reconceptualisation of asylum burial grounds, memorialisation activism, and historical analysis of their afterlives.

Call for relative testimonials
We are currently looking for audio or video testimonials from relatives of those buried at Horton. The testimonials will form part of a video on this new website. If you are a Horton relative and would like to submit a testimonial, please reach out to us using the contact page. We can provide you with some guiding questions, as well as the most current information on the status of the cemetery.
